About SEA Teacher Program

Exchange Program

SEAMEO Teacher is an exchange program for pre-service student teachers from Southeast Asian countries. It aims to help them develop their teaching skills and pedagogy in a multicultural and international setting, and to promote understanding and cooperation among Southeast Asian countries.

Participants undergoes screening processes such as evaluation and interviews to see if they really are eligible for the program. Participants who are recommended to join in the program, are placed in host universities in other Southeast Asian countries for a period of one to four months. During the practicum, they observe and assist experienced teachers in the classroom, and also have the opportunity to teach their own classes under the supervision of cooperating or mentor teacher.

SEAMEO Teacher is a valuable opportunity for pre-service student teachers to gain international teaching experience, develop cross-cultural teaching skills, learn about different educational systems and methodologies, make connections with other pre-service student teachers and educators from Southeast Asia, and promote regional understanding and cooperation.

the school aims to provide holistic education encompassing academics, language proficiency, character development, and adherence to Islamic principles in different specialized classes offered.

The different programs offered in the labschool:

Regular Class (A): Adheres to national standards using the national curriculum and the distinctive curriculum of the UPI Laboratory School.
Bilingual Class (B): Emphasizes the International Science Curriculum, National Curriculum, and language literacy (Bahasa Inggris dan Jepang) with native speakers. It aims to produce graduates competent in academics, social, and global competition through various specialized programs.
Tauhiid Class (C): Focuses on the 2013 Curriculum enriched with Diniyah curriculum according to Daarut Tauhiid standards. The aim is to develop strong faith, good worship habits, strong morals, Qur'an memorization, and academic excellence in students while adhering to Islamic values.

Last March 2023, FEU Roosevelt College Department signed a collaboration of Teacher Education Project with Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
